The main goal of any Retrospective Drug Utilization Review (RDUR) program is the improvement of the health care delivered to the beneficiary. Fortunately, HID's considerable experience has shown that the largest cost savings can best be achieved as a by-product of this improvement of health care and that physicians are dramatically more receptive to educational interventions than they would be if the primary stated goal was to reduce costs.
