William R. Mixon, Jr.

President and Chief Executive Officer

Bill “We provide our customers a direct line of communication to the CEO’s office, which larger and more dispersed organizations cannot do. When I shake a customer’s hand on day one and say ‘I will not let you down,’ I mean every word.”

Professional Biography

Bill Mixon, President and CEO, joined HID in 2001 as the first Vice President of Sales hired by Dr. Ty Gibson, then CEO. Since that time Mr. Mixon, along with the HID executive team, has expanded HID into the most experienced and qualified provider of drug utilization review and pharmacy support services in the United States. In his current role, Mr. Mixon’s responsibilities include leading the organization, identifying business opportunities, ensuring the success of customer products and services, and overseeing ongoing business activities.

Prior to joining HID, Mr. Mixon was the president of Prime Manufacturing, an electronics company based in Auburn, Alabama. Prime Manufacturing specializes in the production of heavy vehicle environmental controls and exercise equipment electronics. Mr. Mixon started the company in the early 1980s with an electrical engineer, eventually building relationships with organizations such as the Department of Energy, Sandia National Laboratories, and the Southern Company.

Bill Mixon’s business philosophy, gleaned from building and leading successful organizations in very different industries, can be summed up in two statements. He believes that companies succeed when they provide good products and services at fair prices, with the utmost integrity. In addition, he believes that each project’s success relies on communication. In his role as CEO, his focus is to listen to customers, pay attention to the nuances, and build business relationships based on trust and confidence. In his transition from working with a private sector customer base to working with state governments, Mr. Mixon has learned the terminology, environment and challenges of government agencies, but applies the same business principles to build customer relationships.

Mr. Mixon’s communication skills can be traced to the start of his career. After earning a B.A. in clinical psychology from Troy University, he attended Emory University’s Candler School of Theology and spent a total of nine years as a Methodist minister. Dr. Ty Gibson noted Bill Mixon’s gift for distilling complex information into information that others could easily understand. This talent ultimately allows Mr. Mixon to explain opportunities, solutions, and situations to customers in a way that establishes trust, builds solid relationships, and promotes success.
