Organizations lose an estimated 5% of their annual revenues to fraud, according to a survey of fraud experts conducted by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). This estimate is even larger for Medicaid agencies, which lose approximately 10% of their funds to fraud, waste, and abuse each year and only recoup 1% of these funds on average.
